What is the benefit of drinking tea from root plants?

Chicory
Botanical name- cichorium intybus
Health benefits: may help you feel full and help you cut down on caffeine
- 2 tsp chicory root ground
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 c hot water

1 to 2 tablespoons honey, to taste

- In a 1 1/4-quart pot, add the water and ginger, and bring to a boil for at least 10 minutes. For a stronger and tangier tea, allow to boil for 20 minutes or more, and use more slices of ginger.

Licorice
Botanical name- licorice glycyyhiza glaba
Health benefits: may be an effective antioxidant and anti-inflammatory
- 5 cups water
- 1 oz dried licorice root, roughly chopped if using fresh
- honey, to taste
- Boil your water, then add your licorice root.
- Continue boiling for 10 minutes, then pour the tea into your teapot.
- Adjust your tea with honey to taste.

Valerian
Botanical name- valerian offinalis
Health benefits: may help with insomnia and headaches
- 9 oz/266 ml hot water (90 C/194 F)
- 1 heaping teaspoon of loose dried valerian root

Tea from Fruit

Blueberry
Botanical name- vaccinium corymbosum
Health benefits: may protect against cancer, increase bone density
- 1 cup of boiling water
- A handful of blueberries
- A Pinch of dry lavender flowers
- 1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of Earl Grey tea
Instructions:
- Bring water to a boil.
- Wash blueberries, put them into a bowl and gently squeeze them with a masher.
- Put blueberries, lavender and black tea in a teapot or a mug and add 1 cup of boiling water.
- Steep for 5-10 minutes.
- Strain, add honey and serve.

Lemon citrus or orange
Health benefits: May offer anti-ageing properties and regulate high blood sugar
Boil 1 cup water: Boil a pot of water on the stovetop or in an electric tea kettle. · Stir in the fresh lemon and honey:
- 1 teaspoon dried orange peel
- 8 oz plain water

- Peel an orange or lemon and cut the peel into small pieces.

- ¼ cup of fresh rose hips or 1 heaping tablespoon of dried
- 8 oz boiling water
- Let the tea steep for 15 minutes covered, and then strain out the pulp.
